For a life that was short and golden
ʻIlima is the official flower of Oʻahu. Its blossoms are small and delicate, and one lei takes hundreds of them, so a lei ʻilima was once a gift for royalty.
Some lives are like that: short in years, but golden, and worth more than anything. Plant ʻilima for a child, a brother, a sister, or a friend who left too early.
Caring for your plant
- Full sun.
- Very little water once it settles in.
- Stays low and spreading, or grows as a small shrub.
Each plant is about two to three feet tall when you take it home.
